Uterque; discovering a new fashion brand
One of the most pleasant shopping experiences I have just had is visiting and buying in Uterque. Besides, what I have discovered about this brand is verily fascinating. Discover why.
MEANING OF UTERQÜE
Uterqüe is a Latin word that literally means “One thing and the other” or “also” too. The intention is to attract a sophisticated woman who values quality and the latest tendencies (one thing and the other hence) regarding fashion and fashion accessories (one thing and the other again). Beautiful!! It could not be more imaginative and original.
ORIGINS
The inception of this fashion brand was the year 2008 and the place Galicia, the same Spanish region from which Zara also comes. Indeed, Zara and Uterqüe belong both to the same company, Inditex.
The first shops were opened in A Coruña, Madrid and Barcelona. At the end of the year 2008, it also had shops in Portugal and Mexico.
After having opened its first Russian store in 2011 and be operative online in Holland, Belgium or Austria. Uterque created a new concept of shop regarding design in 2015, inspired by classic British Libraries and contemporary art.
Every and each Uterqüe shop throughout the world is superbly arranged. They are decorated in such a way it makes you feel you are dreaming. There are 72 Uterque shops in 12 countries more or less. Its headquarters are in Tordera, province of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.
DRESS LIKE A QUEEN
The erstwhile journalist and current Spanish Queen, Letizia Ortiz, who despite being a royal does love to remember her humble origins (one thing and the other one more time) loves Uterque.
This brand gained notoriety when Queen Letizia chose some Uterqüe leather jeans to open ARCO, a relevant art exhibition. She loves these trousers so much she has worn them on 4 different occasions, even though she can choose any piece of clothing she wants.
We do not know if British and Spanish royal families talk about fashion often. Yet, what we do know is that Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge and her sister Pippa Middleton love Uterque and they do wear its designs. Similarly, Kim Murray, wife of Andy Murray, who is the current world number one tennis player, wears Uterqüe likewise.
UTERQUE ICON
French top model, musical producer, writer (she is the author of bestseller book How to be Parisian wherever you are, love, style and bad habits) and muse of fashion concept effortless chic, Caroline de Maigret, was the first Uterque icon back in 2015, just when the brand started to be relevant.
WHY TO BUY UTERQUE
To my view, buying in High Street Shops such as H&M or Topshop it is always a good idea. However, seeing people wearing your same outfit or tshirt it is not at all!!! Above all, if you cannot stand the person whose attire you have also bought.
As a result, if you can afford to spend a little more, the jump in quality and uniqueness will make you feel joyful and chic when it comes to wear the latest fashion trends without having to spend too much. If you are a middle class woman between 25-50 years of age, you are especially going to love Uterqüe, albeit there are also some clothes for men.
You can also buy footwear, jewellery, bags and fashion accessories such as foulards, bags, belts or sunglasses.
